Traditionally, a campfire is a session held at the end of a day’s work where hunters or hikers gather around a bonfire to sing, drink, chat and relax. After which, the fire is usually kept alive throughout the night.
Today, campfires are still being held and the mode of how it is conducted varies from occasion to occasion. However, the main objective remain unchanged – that is, as a form of gathering.
In our context, campfires are often conducted on the last night of the camp (Unit Annual Training Camp/ Cadet Leaders Training Camp). The campfire marks the end of training for the whole camp. It is an opportunity for campers to show their appreciation and a platform for unit bonding.
